Emergency Funding from Provincial Government

COVID-19 Emergency Response

On Sunday,  March 29th,  the Provincial Government announced generous funding of $3 million dollars to assist BC’s Food Banks during the COVID-19 State of Emergency.  Food Banks BC was  asked by the Provincial Government to distribute $3 million in special funding to assist food banks experiencing an emergency need during the Provincial State of Emergency declared in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. These funds included directives from government to remove barriers to food bank recipients and to allow drive-through and delivery opportunities, larger hampers, increased home delivery capability, and to remove the requirement of means’ testing.    We are grateful to our Provincial Government for their vital support during this time.

As of May 6, Noon PST, these funds were fully expended through disbursements to Food Banks throughout BC.

FUNDING DISBURSEMENTS

* PLEASE NOTE:  Applications were processed in the order in which they were received.   Each Tuesday at noon was the weekly cut-off for weekly disbursements.  On Tuesday,  May 6 at noon PST,  all funding was fully expended.
